Vishay BPW83 is an infrared and visible light photodiode packaged in a side view black plastic housing designed for through-hole mounting. It features a daylight blocking filter that blocks ambient visible light, making it ideal for applications requiring high sensitivity to infrared radiation.

The device exhibits a peak wavelength sensitivity at 950nm with spectral detection ranging between 790nm and 1050nm. Its radiant sensitive area of 7.5 mm² ensures high radiant sensitivity with fast response times characterized by typical rise and fall times of 100ns.
