Hirose FH52-40S-0.5SH is a 52 series FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) connector featuring a 0.5 mm pitch and 40 contacts configured as a right angle female bottom contact design. It operates on a nominal voltage of 50V AC and supports current up to 500 mA, making it suitable for precise electronic applications requiring compact, reliable connections.
The connector utilizes a surface mount type (SMT) design with a low profile mated height of 2.00 mm. Its rotating flip lock actuator provides simple operation for insertion of FPC or FFC cables and includes a tactile click to confirm secure locking. The contacts are made of phosphor bronze plated with gold for excellent electrical conductivity and longevity.
The housing is composed of liquid crystal polymer material, which is robust and compliant with halogen-free standards as defined by IEC 61249-2-21. This environmental safety compliance makes it well suited for modern electronics manufacturing.
Internal metal fittings within the housing increase actuator retention and stability. The two-point contact structure enhances electrical reliability by ensuring consistent contact pressure. Side catches guide and hold the FPC in place until the lock actuator fully engages, preventing accidental disconnections.
This connector series supports automatic pick and place mounting, allowing for efficient integration into high-volume production lines. The bottom of the connector is solid, with no exposed contacts, enabling PCB patterning underneath and preventing electrical shorts.
Application areas for the FH52 series include audio and video recording devices, car navigation and audio systems, notebook computers, portable medical devices, optical drives, industrial control units, satellite receivers, LCD and digital TVs, and printers. Its robust construction and secure locking mechanism make it suitable for demanding industrial and commercial environments.
The rotating flip lock actuator ensures ease of installation and secure locking. Metal fittings and two-point contact design enhance electrical reliability and actuator retention. Low profile with 2 mm mated height fits compact PCB layouts.
Halogen-free compliant housing for environmental safety. Operation temperature range is -40°C to 105°C, accommodating diverse operating conditions.
Choose Hirose FH52-40S-0.5SH for dependable FPC/FFC connectivity in industrial, laboratory, manufacturing, and commercial electronics applications. Explore more connectors and related products at EnvMart.
