Vishay VEMD5160X01 Infrared Photodiode is a high-speed and highly sensitive PIN photodiode designed for precise infrared detection applications. This surface mount device incorporates a daylight blocking filter optimized for IR emitters operating between 850 nm and 890 nm wavelengths, enhancing selective sensitivity while minimizing ambient light interference.

The device measures a compact 5 mm length, 4 mm width, and stands only 0.9 mm tall, packaged in a QFN surface mount format to facilitate integration into compact electronic assemblies. It features a substantial radiant sensitive area of 7.5 mm², enabling efficient photon collection for accurate and fast photodetection.

With typical rise and fall times of 30 nanoseconds, this photodiode supports high-speed applications and ensures quick signal response. It operates reliably within a temperature range of -40°C to 100°C and adheres to the automotive industry standard AEC-Q101, reinforcing its suitability for robust automotive and industrial environments.
