Vishay VCNL4035X01-GS08 Ambient Light & Proximity Sensor is a high-performance sensor IC integrating proximity sensing and ambient light sensing functions in a single compact surface-mount SMD package. It operates with a supply voltage range from 2.5 V to 3.6 V, providing reliable operation across automotive and industrial temperature ranges from -40°C to 105°C.

This sensor incorporates photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital converters utilizing CMOS technology, delivering a 16-bit high-resolution ambient light sensor capable of precise ambient illumination measurement. The proximity sensor supports a sensing distance of up to 500 mm and includes circuitry to drive up to three external infrared emitting diodes for enhanced proximity detection accuracy.

Featuring an open drain output, the device is compatible with a range of digital systems and microcontrollers, facilitating easy integration. Its low power consumption design makes it suitable for portable and battery-operated products.
