Toshiba High Speed CMOS 14-Stage Binary Counter Surface Mount Logic IC 5.5V 74VHC4040FT

Toshiba 74VHC4040FT is an advanced high speed CMOS 14-stage binary counter and divider IC fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology. It offers TTL equivalent high speed operation while maintaining CMOS low power consumption, operating from 2.0 V to 5.5 V supply voltage.

This surface mount counter device provides all divided output stages with a 1/4096 frequency division at Q12 output. A negative transition on the clock input increments the counter, with a clear input to reset the counter to low state. Input protection circuitry permits voltage inputs from 0 to 5.5 V irrespective of supply voltage.

The device is capable of interfacing 5 V and 3 V systems as well as supporting two supply systems such as battery backup. It includes power-down protection on all inputs to prevent device damage with mismatched supplies and input voltages.

Maximum supply voltage: 5.5 V. Operating temperature: -40°C to 125°C. High noise immunity with VNIH and VNIL at 28% VCC minimum. Balanced propagation delays tPLH ≈ tPHL. Low noise output voltage VOLP max 1.5 V. Low power dissipation ICC max 4.0 μA at 25°C.
