Samtec SS4 Series straight surface PCB socket, model SS4-20-3.50-L-D-K-TR, is a precision 40-contact, 2-row socket designed with a 0.4 mm pitch solder termination for SMT board-to-board applications. This low profile socket features a slim, space-saving design with black liquid crystal polymer housing providing excellent mechanical stability and high temperature resistance.

The socket contacts are made of phosphor bronze, plated with 0.25 microns of gold on the contact area to ensure optimal conductivity, coupled with a matte tin plating on the tail for reliable soldering. It is engineered for high speed and durable use, featuring Razor Beam™ contacts that provide a 1 mm contact swipe. The polarized socket ensures secure and foolproof mating with undercut retention notches that increase withdrawal force upon contact engagement.

With a stacking height of 6 mm and operating temperatures ranging from -55°C to 125°C, this component supports demanding industrial and electronic manufacturing environments. The current rating of 1.3 A suits many signal and low power applications.
