Product Description
Vishay VSMY98545 is a high power infrared emitting diode designed for sophisticated electronic and optical applications. This surface mount device integrates a dome-shaped moulded lens housing a 42 mil chip, enabling efficient IR output specifically at a peak wavelength of 850 nm.
The diode delivers a radiant flux of 660 mW and intensities up to 1600 mW/sr, with a beam angle of 90° and an angle of half intensity of 45°, making it ideal for machine vision, camera illumination including 3D gaming, and IR illumination for CMOS cameras.
Using Vishay’s SurfLight™ technology, the VSMY98545 diode emits the majority of its light and power directly through the top surface, resulting in higher intensity output compared to standard IR emitters. This enhanced efficiency can reduce component count in designs and supports high-speed pulse operations.
