STMicroelectronics IPS2050HTR High Side Power Switch IC integrates advanced features for efficient and safe switching in automotive and industrial applications. Operating over a voltage range of 8V to 60V, the device supports an operating current of up to 5.6A with a very low switch on resistance (RDS-ON) of 50 milliohms at junction temperature up to 125°C. This ensures minimal power loss and heat generation during operation.

The IC includes built-in temperature sensors for both the junction and the case, granting per-channel overload and over-temperature protection. This feature allows output channels to be disabled under fault conditions and only re-enabled when safe operating temperatures are restored, enhancing device reliability.

Additional protections such as under-voltage lock-out, over-voltage protection, and fast demagnetization of inductive loads prevent damage from voltage transients and overload conditions. Diagnostic functions via dual FAULT pins monitor each channel’s status, providing current source indication of overload or over-temperature events.

The PowerSSO-24 surface mount package ensures a compact footprint with dimensions 10.5mm length, 7.6mm width, and 2.47mm height, facilitating easy integration into densely packed PCB designs.
