This instrument integrates a low-noise, stable DC power source with a true instrument-grade 6.5 digit multimeter, facilitating precise sourcing and measurement of voltage, current, and resistance.

The device supports 2-, 4-, and 6-wire remote sensing, enhancing measurement accuracy by minimizing voltage drops in test leads and contacts. It achieves a basic measurement accuracy of 0.012% with 6½-digit resolution and fast throughput of up to 1700 readings per second at 4.5 digits using the GPIB interface.

The Keithley 2401. Source Meter operates in source and sink (four-quadrant) mode and features a pass/fail comparator for efficient test sorting and binning. Connectivity options include standard SCPI commands over GPIB, RS-232 interfaces, and Keithley Trigger Link for seamless integration into automated test setups.
