STMicroelectronics TCPP02-M18 is a USB Controller designed for USB Type C interfaces, supporting a maximum supply voltage of 5.5 V and minimum of 2.7 V. Housed in an 18-pin QFN package with dimensions 3.5 mm by 600 μm, it provides robust protection and management features for USB Type C source applications.
The controller offers 24 V tolerant ESD protection compliant with IEC61000-4-2 level 4 on CC lines, ensuring high reliability against electrostatic discharge. It integrates overvoltage protection on CC1 and CC2 lines to prevent damage caused by short circuits with VBUS pins, common during cable insertion or removal.
An integrated charge pump and gate driver facilitate external N-channel MOSFET control for programmable VBUS overcurrent protection. Analog output current sensing and discharge capabilities on VBUS and VCONN lines provide enhanced power management and safety.
