STMicroelectronics STUSB4710AQTR is a high-performance USB power delivery controller designed for seamless communication and power negotiation over USB Type-C connections. Targeting provider/DFP devices such as notebooks, tablets, and AC adapters, this controller manages the connection to UFP or DRP devices without requiring MCU support, allowing for automated device attachment, power negotiation, VBUS discharge, and robust protection mechanisms.
With a maximum data rate of 400 kbps and operational supply voltage up to 22V, the STUSB4710AQTR supports multiple protocols including USB 2.0, USB Type-C, and I2C, giving engineers flexibility in system integration. The single role provider DFP configuration streamlines power delivery profile management, supporting up to five power data objects (PDO) for optimal configuration.
Its integrated ESD protection and short-to-VBUS protections on configuration channel (CC) pins provide safety in demanding industrial and commercial environments. The device’s surface mount QFN package simplifies PCB layout and assembly while maintaining reliability over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 105°C.
Configurable start-up profiles, hardware-based cable orientation detection, VBUS voltage monitoring, and internal/external VBUS discharge paths further enhance performance and safety. The optional I2C interface allows for flexible connectivity with host MCUs when required, while maintaining full hardware autonomy for most use cases.
Ideal applications for the STUSB4710AQTR include industrial embedded systems, laboratory instruments, consumer electronics, commercial power adapters, and Type-C-compliant charging stations. Its advanced features make it suitable for environments requiring reliable USB power delivery and negotiation with multiple device profiles.
Designed for USB Power Delivery communication and power negotiation. Supports USB 2.0, Type-C, and I2C protocols for versatile device integration. Features robust ESD protection and high supply voltage up to 22V. Surface mount QFN package for streamlined PCB integration.
Operates across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 105°C. Single role provider DFP configuration with up to 5 power data objects (PDO).
