FTDI Chip FT-MOD-4232HUB USB Serial Hub Module provides a 1-channel, high-performance serial interface supporting USB 2.0 Hi-Speed communication at up to 480 Mbps. Operating at 5 V supply, this 36-pin through-hole mounted module is designed for industrial and electronic applications requiring robust USB serial connectivity.

This module integrates the FT4232H USB Hi-Speed device for serial and bitbang communications and includes a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed hub controller that supports up to three downstream USB ports. Both the hub controller and FT4232H device are USB bus powered, eliminating the need for an external power supply, although an external power input pin is available to feed downstream ports requiring additional power.

The device offers four asynchronous serial interfaces, each supporting data rates from as low as 300 baud to up to 12 Mbaud at TTL levels. Two independent MPSSE engines enable synchronous serial data transfer rates up to 30 Mbps, facilitating JTAG, SPI, and I²C protocols critical in embedded systems and testing environments.

Device features include a single standard Type A USB header for Host connection, onboard EEPROM 93LC56 for configuration storage, and LEDs for port activity and power status indication. The 36-pin through-hole mount facilitates integration into various PCBs and electronic assemblies.

This USB serial hub module is compatible with UHCI, OHCI, and EHCI USB Host controllers, ensuring broad system compatibility across industrial, laboratory, manufacturing, and embedded control applications.
