STMicroelectronics L6470H is an advanced stepper motor driver IC tailor-made for controlling two-phase bipolar stepper motors with high precision and efficiency. It operates over a voltage range of 8 to 45 V and can handle peak output currents up to 7 A, making it suitable for demanding industrial and automation environments.
This device integrates a fully featured dual low RDS(on) DMOS full bridge with on-chip current sensing circuitry that allows accurate and non-dissipative current control alongside overcurrent protection. The unique architecture enables a true 1/128 microstepping resolution, providing smooth and precise motion control.
The L6470H features a digital control core capable of generating customized motion profiles including acceleration, deceleration, speed control, and target positioning via a 5-Mbit/s SPI interface.
