Product Description

Broadcom HCPL-0661-500E is a high-performance 2-channel optocoupler designed for surface mount applications, housed in an 8-Pin SO package. This device integrates a Gallium Arsenide Phosphide (GaAsP) LED with a high gain photodetector to provide reliable optically isolated transistor output signals. It ensures signal integrity with a guaranteed common mode transient immunity of 10,000 V/ms (minimum 10 kV/ms CMR at 1000 V).

The low input current capability of approximately 5mA allows for energy-efficient operation, while maintaining compatibility with LSTTL/TTL logic circuits. Operating temperature range from -45°C to 80°C ensures usability in harsh environments common in industrial and automotive sectors.

The output stage features an open collector transistor with a Schottky clamp to achieve fast switching times, supported by typical rise and fall times of 24ns and 10ns respectively. The device is also packaged in tape and reel format to facilitate automated manufacturing processes.

Broadcom HCPL-0661-500E complies with UL and CSA safety standards and meets automotive grade AEC-Q100 certifications, making it suitable for critical automotive and industrial applications where electrical isolation and noise immunity are essential.
