Vishay VEML6040A3OG Ambient Light Spectral Sensor provides advanced spectral sensitivity at peak wavelength of 650 nm, offering light detection closely matching the real human eye’s response for enhanced ambient light sensing applications. Packaged in a compact 4-pin OPLGA surface mount layout, this sensor integrates photodiodes, amplifiers, and mixed-signal circuits using CMOS technology to deliver precise RGBW color measurements with 16-bit digital resolution on each channel.

The sensor operates efficiently within a voltage range of 2.5 V to 3.6 V and maintains very low power consumption with a typical supply current of 200μA, making it ideal for battery-operated handheld and consumer devices. Temperature compensation circuitry ensures stable output over a wide temperature range from -40 °C to 85 °C, suitable for industrial and mechanical environments requiring consistent light sensing performance.

Its Filtron™ technology enables close spectral matching to human eye sensitivity and supports fluorescence light flicker immunity, enhancing performance in diverse lighting conditions.
