Microchip PAC1944T-E/4MX is a high side current monitor featuring a 16-pin VQFN package designed for precise current and voltage sensing. It operates within a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and has a compact length of 3 mm, making it suitable for surface mount applications in modern electronics.
This device integrates four channels for current monitoring combined with bus voltage monitoring and current sense amplifiers feeding into high-resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The 16-bit resolution enhances accuracy in voltage and current measurements, while the 100 μV offset voltage ensures minimal measurement error.
The PAC1944T-E/4MX boasts digital circuitry capable of power calculations and long-duration energy accumulation, supporting integration periods spanning up to a year. Accumulated data such as bus voltage, sense resistor voltage, and proportional power are stored in accessible registers for system host retrieval.
Featuring ultra-low quiescent current of 5 μA, this device supports energy-efficient designs. It includes two independent ALERT/GPIO pins for over/under voltage, current, and power threshold detection, enabling reliable fault monitoring in embedded systems.
Additional key advantages include real-time calibration that minimizes offset errors, eliminating the need for input filters. The wide bus voltage monitoring range extends up to 16 V full-scale range, with a programmable 4.5 V option. High-speed communication at 3.4 Mbps supports rapid data acquisition.
This current monitor is ideal for industrial, laboratory, and commercial applications including embedded computing platforms, network devices, AI and GPU power management, notebook and tablet computing, cloud and server infrastructures, as well as optical networking modules.
Operates with supply voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V. Provides 16-bit resolution for high accuracy voltage and current measurement. Includes four channels with bus voltage monitoring and current sense amplification. Features low quiescent current of 5 μA for efficient power consumption.
Designed for surface mount with a compact 3 mm length package. Offers built-in digital circuitry for power calculations and energy accumulation. Supports real-time calibration to minimize offset error and eliminate input filters.
