Silicon Labs EM357-ZRT is a 32 Bit ARM Cortex M3 ZigBee System On Chip (SOC) microcontroller designed for low power wireless communication in industrial, commercial, and IoT applications.

This SOC integrates a high-performance 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor with an embedded 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4-2003 compliant transceiver. It supports ZigBee and IEEE 802.15.4 wireless standards and includes onboard flash memory of 192kB and 12kB of RAM to support application and data needs.

Its low voltage operation from 2.1V to 3.6V alongside temperature tolerance of -40°C to 85°C makes it suitable for harsh industrial environments and embedded wireless sensor networks.

The 48-pin QFN surface mount package offers a compact form factor of 7 mm by 7 mm with a height of 950 μm. It supports multiple interfaces such as TWI, UART, SPI, and an optional USB interface, enabling various peripheral connections.

This model features advanced MAC hardware for automatic packet acknowledgement, backoff, and clear channel assessment compliant to IEEE 802.15.4. It also includes an AES128 encryption accelerator ensuring secure communication.

With integrated channel filtering, the transceiver coexists efficiently with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless communications operating in the 2.4 GHz spectrum. The device incorporates power management features including deep sleep modes with less than 2μA power consumption to maximize battery life.
