Vishay VSMY2850G is a high speed Infrared (IR) emitting diode designed for subminiature surface mount applications with a peak wavelength of 870 nm and radiant flux of 55mW. Its compact package (2.3 x 2.3 x 2.8 mm) and dome-shaped clear lens facilitate efficient IR light emission with a narrow beam angle of 20°, making it ideal for IrDA compatible data transmission, miniature light barriers, photointerrupters, optical switches, proximity sensors, IR touch panels, and IR illumination.

Using gallium aluminum arsenide (GaAlAs) LED material ensures high radiant power and long-term reliability. The device features 2 pins and is packaged in tape and reel format for easy surface mounting, supporting automated manufacturing lines.
