Toshiba 74HC138D is a high-speed CMOS 3-to-8 line decoder fabricated using silicon gate C2MOS technology. It offers high speed operation comparable to LSTTL while maintaining CMOS low power dissipation. The device features 3 binary select inputs (A, B, C) that determine which of the eight outputs (Y0 to Y7) goes low when enabled.

When disabled, all outputs remain high, inhibiting decoding. Inputs are equipped with protection circuits against static discharge and transient voltages ensuring durability in industrial environments.
