Vishay TSOP31438 is a miniaturized 38 kHz infrared (IR) receiver module designed for precise remote control signal reception with a wide detection angle of ±45°, suitable for ranges up to 45 meters. The module features a 3-pin through hole TSOP package measuring 12.5 mm in height, 10 mm in length, and 5.8 mm in width.

This IR receiver integrates a PIN diode and preamplifier on a leadframe with an epoxy housing containing an IR filter, enabling a demodulated output compatible for direct microprocessor readout. Its low power consumption with typical supply current of 450 μA and a supply voltage range of 2.5 V to 5.5 V ensures efficient operation in battery-powered or low-voltage environments.

The TSOP31438 is optimized with advanced AGC4 circuitry to effectively suppress interference and spurious pulses from modern energy-saving lamps like CFLs, providing stable and noise-immune IR signal reception.
