Souriau Sunbank by Eaton 8STA02016SN Circular Connector is a high-performance panel mount socket with 16 gold plated female contacts designed for 1000V operation at 13A current. Constructed with an aluminium body featuring conductive black zinc plating, this connector provides excellent durability, EMI-RFI shielding, and vibration resistance.

Derived from MIL-DTL-38999 specifications, the 8STA series was developed primarily for motorsport applications including Formula 1, Moto GP, WRC, Nascar, and other racing applications, as well as military and industrial sectors requiring lightweight and highly robust connectors.

The connector mates with a quick bayonet lock requiring only a 1/3 turn and provides an audible click for positive connection confirmation. Its oval flange size 20 design includes colour coded banding for easy identification. It is rated IP67, ensuring protection against dust ingress and water immersion up to 1 meter for at least 30 minutes.

The contacts are made from gold plated copper alloy, ensuring excellent conductivity and reliability. The connector reliably operates in extreme temperatures from -55°C up to 175°C, making it suitable for harsh environments. It has been tested for shock resistance up to 300g for 3 milliseconds and vibration up to 147m/s² over a frequency range of 10 to 2000 Hz.

Additional features include a grommet and seals made of liquid silicone rubber to maintain ingress protection and mechanical stability.
