Product Description

Microchip USB2512B-I/M2 is a 2-channel USB 2.0 controller IC designed to provide high performance and low power consumption in USB hub applications. Operable between 3V and 3.6V supply voltage, this controller features a 36-pin SQFN surface-mount package optimized for PCB layout efficiency.

This device supports Hi-Speed (480 Mbps), Full-Speed (12 Mbps), and Low-Speed (1.5 Mbps) USB communications along with compliance to USB Battery Charging specification Rev. 1.1, enabling charging downstream port support.

Featuring MultiTRAK™ technology, the USB2512B-I/M2 includes a dedicated transaction translator per port maintaining full-speed throughput independent of downstream active connections. The integrated features such as PortMap, PortSwap, and PHYBoost provide customizable USB port configurations and programmable signal drive strengths to improve signal integrity and layout flexibility.

Robust ESD protection and a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C make this controller ideal for industrial, embedded, and computing equipment USB hub implementations.

The controller is a drop-in replacement compatible with earlier USB251x/USB251xA devices, simplifying integration and upgrade paths for existing designs. Supports USB 2.0 with Hi-Speed data rates up to 480 Mbps. Two USB transceiver channels equipped with MultiTRAK™ technology.
