Nexperia 74HC595BZX is an advanced 8-bit serial-in/parallel-out surface mount shift register in a 16-pin compact package. This device supports separate clocks for both the shift register and the storage register, providing precise data transfer control essential for digital circuits requiring timing accuracy. It operates within a wide supply voltage range from 2.0 volts to 6.0 volts, allowing versatile integration into various electronic systems.
The shift register features serial input (DS) and serial output (Q7S) pins that enable cascading multiple ICs for extended bit sequences. An asynchronous reset input (MR) clears all bits in the shift register when driven LOW, providing a reliable initialization method. Data shifting is controlled on the LOW-to-HIGH clock transitions at the SHCP input, while the storage register captures data on similar transitions via the STCP clock input. This allows the shift register to remain one clock pulse ahead when both clocks are tied together, optimizing data timing.
Outputs of the storage register are equipped with 3-state logic controlled by the output enable pin (OE). When OE is HIGH, outputs transition to a high-impedance state, allowing bus sharing and multiplexing arrangements. The device’s low power CMOS design ensures minimal power dissipation alongside high noise immunity, making it ideal for industrial and commercial electronics, including counters, data storage, and control applications.
The 74HC595 series by Nexperia is designed to withstand temperatures up to 125° Celsius, suitable for demanding thermal environments. The package dimensions are 4.9 mm length, 4.3 mm width, and 1.1 mm height, optimized for surface mount technology on printed circuit boards.
Wide supply voltage range: 2.0V to 6.0V. Separate clocks for shift and storage registers for flexible timing. Asynchronous reset (MR) for instant shift register clearing. Serial input and output for easy cascade expansion.
3-state output enable for bus-compatible sharing. Low power CMOS technology with high noise immunity. Typical shift out frequency of 100 MHz enabling high-speed data shifting. JEDEC and RoHS certified ensuring reliability and environmental compliance.
Compact 16-pin surface mount package (4.9×4.3×1.1 mm) suitable for compact PCB layouts. Operating temperature up to 125°C for industrial-grade applications.
This Nexperia 74HC595BZX shift register is widely used in industrial electronics, embedded systems, telecommunications, and automation fields where serial-to-parallel data conversion is required. Its low power and high speed make it suitable for modern electronic devices and instrumentation designs.
