STMicroelectronics 4-Element Uni-Directional TVS Diode, Common Anode, 150 W, 5-Pin SOT-323 ESDA25W5

STMicroelectronics ESDA25W5 is a high-performance uni-directional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode array designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other voltage transients. Featuring four diode elements per chip in a Common Anode configuration, this device is engineered for robust surge protection and transient suppression.

Its surface-mount SOT-323 package with five pins allows for straightforward integration into densely populated printed circuit boards. With a minimum breakdown voltage of 25 V and a maximum reverse stand-off voltage of 24 V, the ESDA25W5 provides reliable protection for digital and analog interfaces against fast voltage spikes. The small form factor, with dimensions of 2.2 mm length, 1.35 mm width, and 1 mm height, enables usage in space-limited applications where high protection density is required.

This TVS diode supports a peak pulse power dissipation of 150 W, ideal for shielding electronic components from severe ESD events and transient surges. With a maximum reverse leakage current of only 1 μA and a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, it ensures dependable performance across diverse industrial, commercial, and automotive environments, although it does not meet automotive standards for qualification.

ESDA protection is realized with uni-directional characteristics, making the device suitable for safeguarding input/output lines, microcontroller interfaces, and communication ports. The ESDA25W5 is well-suited for use in industrial automation, medical electronics, consumer devices, and laboratory instrumentation requiring robust overvoltage protection.

For production, the ESDA25W5 is typically supplied on a reel, facilitating automated placement and high-volume PCB manufacturing. The combination of its compact SOT-323 package, four-chip element density, and high pulse power handling makes it a preferred choice for designers seeking reliable, small-footprint ESD solutions.
