The Analog Discovery 2 operates as a robust platform that replaces multiple laboratory instruments. It incorporates a two-channel oscilloscope, arbitrary function generator, stereo audio amplifier, pattern generator, virtual digital I/O, logic analyzer, digital trigger signals, and programmable power supplies. Capable of connecting via simple wire probes or BNC adapters for enhanced signal integrity, it streamlines circuit diagnostics and development in educational, research, and industrial environments.

Powered by the free WaveForms software, the device can be reconfigured to perform as any of the following: two-channel oscilloscope (1MΩ, ±25V, differential, 14-bit, 100MS/s, 30MHz+ bandwidth), function generator (±5V, 14-bit, 100MS/s, 20MHz+ bandwidth), pattern generator (3.3V CMOS, 100MS/s), virtual digital I/O module, digital logic analyzer (3.3V CMOS, 100MS/s, 16 channels), digital bus analyzers (SPI, I²C, UART), single-channel voltmeter (AC/DC, ±25V), network analyzer (Bode, Nyquist, Nichols, range 1Hz to 10MHz), spectrum analyzer (power spectrum, SNR, THD, etc.), and more.

The device offers two programmable power supplies (0 to +5V, 0 to -5V), with output capabilities varying according to the power input. When powered by USB, each supply can provide up to 250mW (500mW total); with an external supply, output rises to 2.1W per channel. The blank canvas in this bundle supports two standard breadboards with three power rails, ideal for prototyping and training. Eleven breakout connections support common IC packaging, and solderless breadboards may be added for convenient development.

Industrial and laboratory applications include circuit validation, design engineering, signal integrity testing, educational training, logic and protocol analysis, and rapid system prototyping.
