STMicroelectronics EVALSTGAP2HSCM demonstration board is engineered as an isolated 4 ampere single gate driver optimized for high power inverter and motor driver applications. It features a negative gate driving capability and incorporates advanced protection functions to ensure system reliability in industrial environments.

The board integrates onboard isolated DC-DC converters supplying both high-side and low-side gate drivers with a maximum isolation rating of 5.2 kV, fed by a 5 V auxiliary supply. The logic supply can be configured to operate at 3.3 V generated onboard or an externally applied 5 V supply.

The device’s single output pin with an included Miller CLAMP function effectively mitigates gate spike phenomena during fast switching activities in half-bridge topologies, enhancing robustness and performance.
