Product Description
STMicroelectronics ST1S40IPHR is a high-performance, internally compensated synchronous step-down switching voltage regulator in an HSOP 8-Pin surface mount package. It delivers up to 3 A DC output current with input voltage compatible from 4 V to 18 V and supports output voltages as low as 0.8 V.
Featuring a fixed 850 kHz PWM switching frequency and integrated low resistance power MOSFETs (95 mΩ high-side and 69 mΩ synchronous rectifier), this device achieves very high efficiency with compact size and low quiescent current of 15μA. Its peak current mode control ensures stable regulation even at low output voltages.
Thermally rated for operation up to 150°C and equipped with cycle-by-cycle current limiting, current fold-back short-circuit protection, and an internal soft-start function, this regulator ensures robust, reliable operation in demanding industrial and consumer applications.
The ST1S40IPHR is ideal for powering digital core and I/O supplies such as microprocessors, DSPs, FPGA devices, as well as being perfect for point-of-load voltage regulation in Set-Top Boxes, TVs, DVD players, optical storage drives, hard disk drives, printers, and audio/graphic cards.
