STMicroelectronics X-NUCLEO-SNK1M1 USB Type C Power Delivery Sink Expansion Board with TCPP01-M12 is engineered to allow developers to efficiently evaluate advanced features of the TCPP01-M12 integrated circuit along with USB Type-C overvoltage protection tailored for Sink applications. This expansion board is intended for stacking on any STM32 Nucleo-64 development board, leveraging the USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (UCPD) peripheral embedded within STM32 microcontrollers.
The board provides robust surge protection with an 8/20 μs profile and comprehensive system-level electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection on VBUS lines. Additional common mode filtering and ESD safeguards are implemented on USB 2.0 high-speed data lines to maintain signal integrity and device reliability.
System-level ESD protection for configuration channel (CC) lines complies with IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 standards, ensuring handling of ±8 kV contact discharges. A low power mode facilitates battery operation by allowing zero current draw when no Type-C cable is connected, thereby preserving power in embedded systems.
The integrated dead battery management feature supports scenarios where the device battery has been fully depleted, maintaining system safety and functionality. Over temperature protection (OTP) is included to prevent device damage under abnormal thermal conditions.
The expansion board also supports USB Type-C basic operations such as attach, detach events, and power supply current capability recognition, making it a versatile tool for evaluating and developing USB Type-C Sink applications within industrial, development, and educational contexts.
Designed for stacking on STM32 Nucleo-64 development boards for USB Type-C and Power Delivery peripheral evaluation. Integrates TCPP01-M12 device offering overvoltage and surge protection for USB Type-C Sink applications.
Supplies system-level ESD protection on VBUS, CC lines, and USB 2.0 high-speed data lines. Includes low power mode enabling zero current consumption when no cable is attached. Features integrated dead battery management for battery depletion scenarios.
Provides over temperature protection for enhanced device safety. Supports demonstration of Type-C basic operations such as attach, detach, and power supply current capability recognition.
This Evaluation Board is ideal for use in industrial electronics development, embedded system design, and USB Type-C power management research. Enhance your STM32 Nucleo-based projects with this dedicated USB Type C Power Delivery Sink expansion, delivering reliable power switch functionality with robust protection mechanisms.
