Electromen OY EM-291A is a robust brushless DC motor controller designed for industrial automation tasks requiring reliable and precise motor control. Operating at 11V to 35V DC, it offers a three phase output with MOSFET power stage for high efficiency, suited for motors equipped with hall sensor feedback.
The controller supports both direct (open loop) and closed loop speed regulation; open loop mode sets motor voltage proportional to the control voltage like classic DC motors, while closed loop mode leverages hall sensor feedback for tight speed regulation, making it ideal for precise applications. Start and stop ramps enhance smooth motor operation in both modes.
Basic digital command inputs include direction, start/stop, and analog speed input. The analog input is digitally filtered so that PLC-generated PWM signals can be used, allowing seamless integration with factory automation platforms.
The EM-291A features fault and overcurrent indication with one NPN output and on-board LED for easy diagnostics. Indication output functions can be parameterized, and all settings are stored in nonvolatile memory. Setting parameters is possible using an EM-236 interface, Emen-Tool lite PC software with EM-268 adapter, or iPhone with Ementool-APP and EM-326 adapter.
