Electromen OY EM-241C is a robust DC Motor Controller designed for industrial and automation applications requiring precise motor control from 10V DC to 35V DC with a continuous current rating of 15A. It provides Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control, enabling smooth acceleration, deceleration, and current protection to optimize motor performance and longevity.

This full-bridge brushed DC-motor starter supports adjustable acceleration and deceleration ramps, enhancing operational smoothness and reducing wear on mechanical components. The current limit adjustment safeguards the motor from overcurrent, with a function that can act as an end-stop for current trip situations, ideal for automated positioning tasks.

The EM-241C features input controls for forward, reverse, and stop commands, inclusive of limit switch inputs to define end positions, and incorporates two settable speeds - useful for applications requiring variable motor speeds or positioning. Additionally, an analog speed control input (0-5V) allows fine speed modulation.

The C-version firmware of this controller introduces freewheel options that enable the motor rotor to release smoothly, as well as selectable PWM frequencies at 2kHz or 16kHz. The latter is an inaudible frequency though with a slightly reduced current handling capability, catering to noise sensitive environments.

The controller provides a fault output to indicate conditions such as current trip, over-current, or zero current, which enhances diagnostic capabilities in complex industrial systems. Control modes can be selected between continuous operation or impulse mode for momentary command execution, expanding the controller’s versatility.

Parameter programming can be performed conveniently using the EM-236 interface unit, EM-268 PC software EmenTool-Lite, or EM-326 smartphone application EmenTool-App, facilitating setup and maintenance onsite or remotely.
