Product Description

The RIGOL DG70000 Series Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator, available in DG70002 and DG70004 models, is a high-performance arbitrary waveform generator designed for RF research, semiconductor validation, high-speed interface testing, communication-system development, electronic manufacturing, and advanced laboratory applications. Built on RIGOL’s SiFi III technology platform, it delivers precise waveform reproduction, high signal purity, deep memory, and accurate multi-channel synchronisation.

The RIGOL DG70002 provides two output channels, while the RIGOL DG70004 offers four output channels for more complex testing requirements. Both models support output frequencies from DC up to 5 GHz, a maximum sampling rate of 12 GSa/s, and 16-bit vertical resolution, enabling detailed generation of high-speed analogue, digital, RF, and modulated signals.

Variable sampling rates from 100 Sa/s to 12 GSa/s allow users to reproduce long-duration signals and narrow pulses as short as 400 ps. The high 16-bit resolution provides finer amplitude control than conventional 12-bit or 14-bit waveform generators, helping produce cleaner and more accurate signals for sensitive electronic testing.

  • Two-channel DG70002 and four-channel DG70004 configurations
  • Output frequency range from DC up to 5 GHz
  • Variable sampling rate from 100 Sa/s to 12 GSa/s
  • High 16-bit vertical resolution
  • Arbitrary waveform memory up to 1.5 Gpts per channel
  • Sequence editor supporting up to 16,000 waveform segments
  • Narrow-pulse generation down to 400 ps
  • Modulation bandwidth up to 1.5 GHz
  • Digital upconversion and I/Q modulation support
  • Supports advanced modulation formats, including 256QAM and 1024QAM
  • Built-in frequency-hopping mode
  • Frequency-hopping intervals down to 128 ns
  • Spurious-free dynamic range as low as −70 dBc
  • Random jitter as low as 350 fs RMS
  • Total jitter as low as 10 ps
  • Precise multi-channel synchronisation and timing adjustment
  • Flexible analogue output amplitude and offset control
  • Marker outputs for synchronised system operation
  • External clock and trigger support
  • Large 15.6-inch 2K HD capacitive touchscreen
  • Motorised display-angle adjustment
  • Auxiliary display for convenient status monitoring
  • USB 3.0 Host and Device connectivity
  • LAN and LXI-C support for automated testing
  • HDMI output for external display integration
  • Remote operation and SCPI command support
  • Rack-mount compatibility for system integration

The deep arbitrary waveform memory and advanced sequence editor enable long-duration waveform playback, conditional sequence transitions, repeated waveform segments, and complex signal scenarios. These functions are useful for receiver stress testing, semiconductor characterisation, radar simulation, communication-protocol development, and electronic-warfare research.

Its 1.5 GHz modulation bandwidth and digital upconversion capabilities support the generation of wideband communication signals. Engineers can create advanced modulation formats and frequency-hopping patterns for testing modern wireless receivers, communication modules, RF components, and broadband electronic systems.

Low jitter and high timing precision make the RIGOL DG70000 Series suitable for high-speed serial-interface receiver testing, clock simulation, data-pattern generation, timing-margin analysis, and synchronised multi-channel experiments. Marker and trigger outputs allow waveform events to be aligned with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and other laboratory equipment.

The large 15.6-inch 2K HD touchscreen provides a clear interface for waveform creation, sequence editing, channel configuration, modulation setup, and signal monitoring. Its electrically adjustable viewing angle supports comfortable operation from different laboratory positions, while LAN, USB, HDMI, external clocking, and LXI-C connectivity simplify integration into automated test systems.

Typical applications include semiconductor validation, RF and microwave research, high-speed interface testing, communication-system development, radar simulation, quantum research, electromagnetic-environment simulation, electronic manufacturing, aerospace and defence testing, academic research, and production quality control.
