Product Description

The RIGOL DG800 Series Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator, available in DG811, DG812, DG821, DG822, DG831, and DG832 models, is an affordable, high-performance signal generator designed for electronic circuit development, embedded-system testing, manufacturing, research laboratories, and engineering education. The series offers model-specific output frequencies from 10 MHz to 35 MHz with single- and dual-channel configurations.

Powered by RIGOL’s SiFi II technology, the DG800 Series provides a sampling rate of up to 125 MSa/s and 16-bit vertical resolution for generating accurate, stable, and low-distortion signals. It combines a function generator, arbitrary waveform generator, pulse generator, noise generator, pattern generator, harmonic generator, modulation source, and frequency counter in one compact instrument.

The DG811, DG821, and DG831 provide a single output channel, while the DG812, DG822, and DG832 offer two independent output channels for simultaneous or synchronised signal generation. Model-specific maximum output frequencies include 10 MHz for the DG811 and DG812, 25 MHz for the DG821 and DG822, and 35 MHz for the DG831 and DG832.

  • Model-specific output frequencies from 10 MHz to 35 MHz
  • Single- and dual-channel output configurations
  • Sampling rate up to 125 MSa/s
  • High 16-bit vertical resolution
  • Standard arbitrary waveform memory of 2 Mpts per channel
  • Optional waveform memory expansion up to 8 Mpts per channel
  • Sine, square, ramp, pulse, noise, DC, dual-tone, pattern, and arbitrary waveforms
  • Up to 160 built-in arbitrary waveforms
  • Harmonic waveform generation up to the eighth order
  • AM, FM, PM, ASK, FSK, PSK, and PWM modulation
  • Linear, logarithmic, and step sweep functions
  • N-Cycle, gated, and infinite burst modes
  • Integrated 240 MHz frequency counter
  • Seven-digit frequency measurement resolution
  • Independent or synchronised dual-channel operation on supported models
  • 4.3-inch colour TFT touchscreen
  • USB Host and USB Device connectivity
  • Optional USB-GPIB support
  • External trigger and reference-clock connectivity
  • Compact and lightweight benchtop construction

The modulation, sweep, burst, sequence, and arbitrary waveform capabilities allow engineers to reproduce different operating conditions for amplifier testing, filter characterisation, receiver evaluation, sensor simulation, power-supply testing, and circuit troubleshooting. The deep waveform memory supports detailed custom signals and longer waveform sequences without sacrificing output accuracy.

An integrated 240 MHz frequency counter provides additional measurement functionality without requiring a separate instrument. Its seven-digit resolution makes it suitable for frequency verification, component testing, laboratory experiments, equipment servicing, and production-line quality control.

The compact unit measures approximately 237.4 × 97 × 268 mm and weighs around 1.75 kg, making it suitable for crowded laboratory benches, classrooms, production facilities, and portable service applications. USB connectivity and optional interface support allow convenient integration with computers and automated testing systems.

Typical applications include analogue and digital circuit development, embedded-system validation, amplifier and filter testing, sensor simulation, equipment maintenance, electronics manufacturing, quality assurance, academic training, and laboratory research.
