Product Description

Microchip ATMEGA256RFR2-XPRO Wireless Microcontroller Evaluation Kit is a professional platform used to evaluate the ATmega256RFR2 wireless System-on-Chip (SoC) designed for IEEE 802.15.4 compliant WPAN and ZigBee mesh networking applications.

The kit centers on the ATmega256RFR2 MCU featuring 256KB Flash memory, 8KB EEPROM, and 32KB SRAM, combined with a 2.4GHz ISM-band transceiver supporting various protocols including RF4CE, SP100, WirelessHART, and 6LoWPAN.

The evaluation board integrates a ceramic chip antenna and includes a temperature sensor and serial I2C EEPROM for extended functionality. Debugging and programming are facilitated via the embedded Atmel Studio Debugger (EDBG) with no need for external tools.

Connectivity options include five headers compatible with Xplained Pro extension boards, an SMA connector for an external antenna, and microUSB and UART interfaces for virtual COM port communication.
