RS PRO 800-7652 Lead Solder Wire is a premium quality solder wire from the trusted RS PRO brand, featuring a 1.27 mm wire diameter and a 250g weight. It is composed of 40% lead and 60% tin alloy with a melting point of 183°C, making it ideal for a wide range of soldering applications in electronics assembly and repair.
This solder wire uses a colophony-free (rosin) flux formulation, which notably reduces exposure to rosin fumes and is therefore suitable for users sensitive to such emissions. Its low odour formulation and 1.1% flux content ensure effective wetting of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components.
During soldering, the wire melts at a relatively low temperature of 183°C, allowing for safe and efficient hand soldering with tips heated typically between 320-360°C. After soldering, it leaves a clear and easily removable residue, or the residue can be safely left on PCBs without affecting performance.
This solder wire is widely used in electrical, industrial, and manufacturing environments for assembling and repairing integrated circuit boards, including both surface-mount device (SMD) and through-hole components. It facilitates secure mechanical and electrical bonding of components.
Compared to lead-free alternatives, this solder wire offers advantages such as a lower melting point and no shelf-life degradation, although usage considerations due to lead content remain. It is commonly preferred for hand soldering and applications requiring precise temperature control to protect delicate components.
1.27 mm diameter wire ensures precise application and control during soldering. Composed of 60% tin and 40% lead alloy for optimal melting and bonding. Colophony-free flux reduces fumes, improving safety during use. Melting point at 183°C allows fast melting and solidifying for efficient solder joints.
Ideal for electrical and electronic component soldering on PCBs. Flux residue can be cleaned easily with dry brushing or left safely on the board. Suitable for use with soldering irons at typical temperatures of 320-360°C.
Weighs 250 grams, suitable for professional and hobbyist applications.
RS PRO is known for delivering reliable and high-quality tools and consumables for industrial and laboratory applications. This solder wire is a dependable choice for electronics manufacturing, repair workshops, industrial maintenance, and prototyping.
