Product Description
RS PRO 796-2040 Passive Infrared PIR Sensor is a miniature, ceiling-mounted presence detector designed for automatic control of lighting loads in commercial, office, and warehouse environments. Operating at 230V AC, this sensor features a 28mm diameter and 30mm height, enabling flush mounting into ceiling tiles or solid ceilings with minimal visibility.
Constructed from durable ABS and polyamide materials, the sensor provides reliable motion detection through passive infrared technology. The IP40-rated unit is suitable for indoor environments where it activates lighting upon occupancy and switches off after an adjustable timeout once the area is vacated.
The sensor supports a variety of lighting types including incandescent, fluorescent, and compact fluorescents. A Direct Dimming variant is available that controls DSI or DALI digital dimming ballasts, allowing grouping of up to 10 ballasts for daylight compensation and consistent ambient light levels.
Settings such as sensitivity, timeout, and light level thresholds can be configured manually at the rear of the unit or remotely via the optional infrared handset (RS#7962097), which permits adjustments of output lux and light override functions.
