The Fluke 2042 is a professional cable locator kit designed for tracing electrical cables in walls, floors and underground installations. It can be used on both live and de-energised circuits to identify cable routes, locate interruptions and short circuits, and find associated fuses or circuit breakers.
The system includes a transmitter and receiver with automatic and manual sensitivity adjustment for clearer cable detection. It is also suitable for locating faults in electrical floor-heating systems and tracing metallic water or heating pipes.
The kit is supplied with test leads, probes, alligator clips, batteries, a carrying case and user documentation.
