Product Description
This device is designed for precise underground cable fault location and high-voltage DC testing. It operates in two primary modes: Surge and DC Test. In Surge mode, it pinpoints cable faults in medium and high-voltage cables using acoustic methods, with selectable output surge voltages of 4kV, 8kV, and 16kV. Each range delivers high energy (500 Joules standard, with optional 1000J or 1500J). The device supports single impulse and sequence intervals of 1.5, 3, and 6 seconds.
In DC Test mode, it performs dielectric tests up to 16kV (optional 20kV) with an output DC current of 10mA or 20mA. It also features a burn current of 60mA for short periods. The device can be used for pre-location of cable faults in ICM and SIM modes when connected with suitable pre-locator units and arc reflection filters.
It operates on a 230V AC power supply and is suitable for medium network 11kV applications.
