Digilent 410-358 Pcam 5C is a communication and wireless development module equipped with the OmniVision OV5640 5-megapixel camera sensor designed for FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) integration. Operating up to a maximum clock frequency of 27 MHz, this 5 MP fixed focus color camera module delivers high-resolution imaging with advanced features optimized for embedded video and imaging systems.

This module incorporates OmniBSI technology, providing 1.4 μm x 1.4 μm pixels that ensure excellent pixel performance by achieving high sensitivity, low crosstalk, low noise, and improved quantum efficiency. The 1/4 inch optical lens with a 24° chief ray angle enhances capture quality, supporting crisp and vivid imaging.

The 410-358 camera module supports full functionality including autofocus (AF) control and anti-shake technology, enabling stable video capture at 720p resolution at 60 frames per second and 1080p at 30 frames per second. The rolling shutter frame exposure allows precise control of image capturing. Integrated automatic image control functions include automatic exposure control (AEC), automatic white balance (AWB), automatic band filter (ABF), automatic 50/60 Hz luminance detection, and automatic black level calibration (ABLC), ensuring superior image quality under varying environmental conditions.

Additional image quality controls include adjustments for color saturation, hue, sharpness, lens correction, defective pixel cancelling, and noise cancelling. The embedded JPEG compression function and internal 1.5V voltage regulator facilitate efficient power and data management within compact system designs.

Designed for compactness with dimensions of 8.5 mm x 8.5 mm x 6 mm and compatible with CSP and RW packaging, the module presents an ideal solution for applications such as mobile phones, digital still and video cameras, and other image sensing devices that require high-performance camera integration with FPGA platforms.

The module is optimized for FPGA development using PB200-358 featured devices. Outputs raw RGB data in 8/10-bit format for high flexibility in image processing. Input clock frequency ranges between 6 to 27 MHz supporting versatile system integration.

Rolling shutter mechanism enables customized exposure and synchronization with other frame-based processing. Included pins support MIPI lanes, clock signals, SCCB interface, power, and control signals for easy connectivity.
