Power Integrations PFS7727H is a Power Factor Correction controller designed to operate at a switching frequency of 60 kHz in a compact 16-pin Plastic eSIP surface mount package suitable for industrial and consumer power electronics.
This device integrates a 600 V MOSFET and diode, optimized to achieve high power factor and efficiency over a wide load range without the need for external current sense resistors, reducing system losses and simplifying design.
The PFS7727H offers a programmable Power Good signal and digital line peak detection, enabling reliable operation even with line voltage distortions such as those from backup power sources like UPS or generators.
Its digital power factor enhancer compensates for distortions caused by EMI filters and bridge rectifiers. Spread-spectrum modulation over a frequency range exceeding 60 kHz eases electromagnetic interference filtering.
Protection circuits within include undervoltage lockout (UVLO), undervoltage (UV), overvoltage (OV), over-temperature protection (OTP), brown-in/out detection, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and overload power limiting, ensuring robust device operation under abnormal conditions.
