MikroElektronika MIKROE-2033 Power Management Development Kit is designed as a Charger Click add-on board that efficiently manages charging of single-cell Lithium-ion and Lithium-Polymer batteries. At its core is the Microchip MCP73831, a fully integrated charge management controller optimized for Li-Ion/Li-Polymer chemistry and provides reliable, programmable current control ranging from 15 to 250 mA. This capability allows precise charging tailored to battery specifications.
The board also features the Maxim DS2438 smart battery monitor IC, enabling data acquisition via a selectable 1-Wire interface accessible through the mikroBUS socket. The mikroBUS socket also supplies a 5 V power input simplifying system design and powering the charger module.
Compact with dimensions of 42.9 mm by 25.4 mm, the board is ideal for integration into embedded applications, including robotics, power management systems, and portable electronics development.
The Charger Click includes an on-board JST XH 2.5 mm pitch battery connector, allowing secure, standardized battery connection. The board comes with header strips soldered, enabling immediate plug-and-play integration with compatible microcontroller development boards featuring mikroBUS™ sockets, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and others.
