Its clamping areas are adjustable by inverting or replacing clamping inserts, making it adaptable to various cable configurations. The design includes thread assist and a positive detent coupling system to ensure quick connect and disconnect operations.

The backshell accommodates Type-III+ or size 20 signal contacts, Type-XII power contacts, and AMP POWERBAND contacts, supporting both signal and power applications within the same housing.
