Product Description

STMicroelectronics STEVAL-STWINMAV1 analogue microphone array expansion is developed to enhance the audio sensing capabilities of the SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node (STWIN) kit, specifically the STEVAL-STWINKT1B and STEVAL-STWINKT1 models. This board is ideal for high-frequency vibration monitoring applications in industrial, laboratory, and manufacturing settings, particularly within ultrasound frequency ranges.

The expansion includes four low-power MP23ABS1 capacitive MEMS microphones that provide a high signal-to-noise ratio for precise audio detection. Powered by an efficient LDK130 low quiescent current and low-noise voltage regulator, it supports battery-powered operation from 3 V to 5.5 V supply inputs.

Integration is facilitated through a dedicated 12-pin connector to the STWIN core system board, running STSW-STWINKT01 firmware with dedicated BSP drivers and application examples to accelerate development. The board features a compact 4 mm square-shaped differential microphone array, an on-board audio-grade quad analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and a Serial Audio Interface (SAI) digital output.

This microphone array expansion finds applications in industrial condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and other high-frequency audio sensing use cases within laboratory, construction, HVAC, manufacturing, and commercial environments.
