Product Description
Microchip CL88031T-E/MF is a sequential linear LED Driver IC designed to efficiently power LED strings from a utility voltage AC input ranging between 90V and 320V. This LED driver IC features six taps with linear current regulators that sequentially regulate current through a single control point, achieving high efficiency by disabling upstream regulators as downstream ones stabilize.
This IC employs a self-commutation technique using tap currents, enabling seamless transitions without dependency on tap voltages or rectified AC, reducing strobing and providing near-continuous LED power output.
The device supports phase-cut dimming operation compatible with both leading and trailing edge dimmers and allows adjustable regulation knee points to optimize Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) performance. It provides a gradual decrease in light output at elevated temperatures while maintaining fairly constant output under varying AC line voltages.
