Product Description
Seeed Studio DS1307 Real Time Clock (RTC) with Battery Backup is a Raspberry Pi add-on module that provides precise timekeeping functionality. It utilizes the DS1307 clock chip and communicates with the Raspberry Pi through the I2C interface. The RTC keeps track of seconds, minutes, hours, day of the week, date, month, and year with leap-year compensation valid until the year 2100.
This module can operate in either 24-hour or 12-hour format, complete with an AM/PM indicator, making it flexible for various applications. It features a 56-byte battery-backed non-volatile RAM that allows data storage independent of the main power supply.
Equipped with a programmable square wave output signal and automatic power-fail detection circuitry, the module ensures continuous and reliable timekeeping even during power interruptions. To maintain clock operation when the Raspberry Pi is powered off, a 3-Volt CR1225 lithium battery can be installed in the on-board battery holder.
