Seeed Studio 105020001 Arduino Compatible Board Grove I2C Motor Driver is designed for versatile motor control applications with a dual channel L298 H-bridge driver chip allowing up to 2A current per motor channel. It utilizes an Atmel ATmega8L microcontroller for efficient I2C communication, making it compatible with Arduino platforms and other microcontrollers.

This motor driver board can control two brushed DC motors independently with differing speeds and directions, or a single 4-wire two-phase stepper motor. The board requires an external power supply ranging from 6V to 15V for motor operation and includes an onboard 5V regulator to supply power to the I2C bus, selectable via jumper.

All motor driver lines are diode-protected from back electromotive force, ensuring reliable and safe operation. The hardware interface features screw terminals for motor and power connections and Grove connectors for easy daisy chaining with other Grove system components.
