Solartron Metrology 911315-RS Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) sensor is a precision motion control device designed for position measurement in industrial, laboratory, and manufacturing applications. The device features a robust die-cast aluminium enclosure with a 5-pin DIN connector, providing reliable operation in demanding environments.
This LVDT operates on an external 120Va.c. or 240Va.c. power supply unit which isolates mains voltage, ensuring safety and allowing a smaller form factor. The output options include both voltage (-10 to 10V) and current (-20 to 20mA) signals with fully independent gain and offset adjustment features.
The sensor accommodates wide range span and zero control, with selectable transducer excitation frequencies and load resistances to match various sensor configurations. Forward and reverse connection selection enables simple wiring without the need to swap wires in the connector. It can support half-bridge transducers with a simple plug wiring change.
Distinct advantages of this LVDT include infinite resolution, high accuracy, and linearity with no friction or wear in the measurement system. The device uses a movable nickel iron core with three coils and requires a sine wave excitation signal.
