The STMicroelectronics STEVAL-ESC001V1 is a dedicated brushless DC motor evaluation board designed to support three-phase BLDC and PMSM motor control with sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC) and speed regulation. Powered by a 72MHz STM32F303CBT7 Cortex-M4F microcontroller featuring 128KB of Flash memory and 32KB RAM, this board integrates advanced motor driver components including 3 L6398D High Side/Low Side MOSFET gate drivers and 6 STL160NS3LLH7 power MOSFETs arranged in 3 half-bridge configurations to deliver up to 20 amperes RMS current.

The board incorporates precise current-sensing and phase-sensing circuits critical for optimal motor control, alongside multiple host communication interfaces such as serial UART, I2C, and CAN. An onboard SN65HVD230 CAN transceiver enables robust integration with CAN-based systems.
