Product Description

Microchip ATATMEL-ICE Chip Programmer Kit is a comprehensive development tool for debugging and programming a variety of SAM and Atmel AVR microcontrollers. It efficiently supports ARM Cortex-M core MCUs and houses essential features for embedded system development.

This full kit contains the Atmel-ICE unit, a high-speed 1.8 m Micro-B USB cable, adapter boards that include 50-mil AVR, 100-mil AVR/SAM, and 100-mil 20-pin SAM adapters, as well as IDC flat and squid cables with multiple connectors for flexible interfacing.

The device supports programming and on-chip debugging of Atmel AVR UC3 microcontrollers using JTAG and aWire interfaces, AVR XMEGA with JTAG and PDI 2-wire interfaces, 8-bit AVR MCUs with OCD support via JTAG or debugWIRE, and Atmel SAM ARM Cortex-M MCUs using SWD and JTAG interfaces. It also supports tinyAVR 8-bit microcontrollers through its debug interface capabilities.

The Atmel-ICE communicates primarily over a standard HID USB interface requiring no special driver installation on the host computer. It operates with low power consumption, entering standby when not actively used, and is powered via USB bus voltage, suitable for USB hubs as well.
