Product Description

STMicroelectronics ST-LINK/V2-ISOL chip programmer and debugger provides robust in-system programming and debugging support for STM8 and STM32 microcontroller units. The device incorporates digital isolation to separate the PC side from the target board, enabling safer operation and reduced electrical noise interference. This isolation supports up to 2500 VRMS, enhancing system protection during development or manufacturing.

The programmer connects to a PC using the supplied USB A to mini B cable, which also powers the device with a 5 V supply. It communicates with target MCUs via SWIM (single wire interface module) for STM8 devices and JTAG/SWD (serial wire debug) protocols for STM32 microcontrollers.

The device supports SWIM operation voltage range from 1.65 V to 5.5 V and offers programming speeds of 9.7 Kbytes/s in low-speed mode and 12.8 Kbytes/s in high-speed mode. The JTAG inputs are 5 V tolerant, supporting a broad range of debugging tools and configurations. Additionally, the SWIM cable supports connection via ERNI standard vertical or horizontal connectors or standard 2.54 mm pitch pin headers.
