Product Description
Metal Face Inductive Proximy Sensors (MFIP) are used to detect metal objects in close proximity to the sensor. MFIPs can be used in many applications including security, industrial control, robotics, and automotive. They consist of two coils that are placed face-to-face, separated by a small air gap. When a metallic object passes through this gap, eddy currents are induced in the first coil, causing a change in its magnetic field. This change in magnetic field induces a voltage in the second coil. These sensors have been used in many different ways, from detecting metal objects in the hands of people, to detecting metal objects in the body of animals.
